The Bureau of Queer Art feels like one of those projects worth following even if you are not deeply immersed in the art world. It is more than a gallery: it brings together artists, exhibitions, residencies, media and collaborations around a queer identity that runs through the entire project as a starting point rather than decoration.
We like that it creates room to discover less obvious work and artists who are often left outside traditional circuits. The feeling is closer to a creative community than to a distant institution. For us, it is a useful reference if you want to explore contemporary queer art and understand what is being produced now in and beyond Mexico City.
